A-Light Wins Three Product Innovation Awards (PIA) for Innovative Luminaires
Oceanside, CA, October 16, 2019– A-Light (www.alights.com), an established best-in-class manufacturer of specification grade interior lighting solutions, is pleased to announce that three of its products have been recognized with PIAs. Absorb H, Air and Aerial have all been awarded in Architectural SSL’s annual awards celebrated innovation within the lighting industry.
The Architectural SSL Product Innovation Awards recognize innovative LED and solid-state luminaires and fixtures. With judging and evaluation of products and systems from a distinguished panel of 18 designers and lighting specialists skilled in product evaluation, the SSL PIA program awards manufacturers based on attributes, qualities, functionality and/or performance beyond industry standards.
Absorb H is a sound absorbing luminaire, combining performance optics and the most advanced acoustic materials to solve two different problems. It’s felt-like polyester panels are made from at least 40% post-consumer recycled PET bottles and are fully recyclable. With a large surface area, Absorb H’s acoustic panels decrease reverberation time and have an inherent sound absorption rate of 0.75 NRC. The luminaire is available in three distribution options with high performance optics that deliver quality light.
Air is a circular direct / indirect pendant featuring dual rows of high performance LED light engines. Both its diffuser shape and opening on top of the fixture are designed to achieve maximum uplight without adding an extra light source. It is available in 24” and 36” diameters.
Aerial, also named in the IES Progress Report 2018, is a linear pendant developed with the intent of re-thinking how interior space is illuminated. It enables designers to make a design statement while still producing functional ambient light. Aerial features a precisely engineered 3D light guide, which provides direct and indirect illumination. The semi-transparent lens provides a discreet view to the core infrastructure of the luminaire.
