A-Light Wins Three GOOD DESIGN® Awards
GOOD DESIGN was founded by Eero Saarinen, Charles Eames, and Ray Eames in 1950 and remains the oldest and most recognized program for design excellence worldwide. The Chicago Athenaeum presents the GOOD DESIGN Awards Program, emphasizing design and manufacturing that have chartered new directions for innovation and pushed the envelope for competitive products in the world marketplace. The 75th edition of the competition featured over 1,100 product designs and graphics from over 55 countries.
The Aloft family of linear pendants was expanded to include Aloft 3D laser-printed metallic joiners. This allows the creation of impactful, elaborate lighting arrangements when used with Aloft luminaires. Designers can choose from eight preconfigured patterns or work with A-Light's Design Assist team to produce unique shapes and sizes. The suspended luminaires create visual impact in a range of sizes for a wide variety of spaces.
Angle was designed for high-ceiling applications and large spaces, including auditoriums and educational institutions, airports and transit outlets, and natatoriums. The high-performance luminaires feature an enhanced indirect asymmetric distribution that projects light up to the ceiling and then reflects down to the surface below. Lighting designers can expect a light output of up to 12,151 lumens per foot.
Mira provides an asymmetric distribution that directs an even illumination towards ceiling and walls, minimizing hotspots and shadows. The luminaires are designed to use both ceiling and wall surfaces to reflect sufficient light into a space to functionally illuminate desks and floors indirectly. Designers can specify wall throw, ceiling throw, or a combination of both in the same run to deliver the right amount of light on a surface. A combined wall and ceiling wash offers up to 2302 delivered lumens per foot.
All award-winning products are published in the GOOD DESIGN Yearbook for 2025-2026. Winners will also be celebrated in April at the 2025 GOOD DESIGN Show in Athens, Greece.
