Tenley-Friendship Library

The facade of the 21,000-sq.-ft. Tenley-Friendship Library in Washington, D.C. was metaphorically designed as an “open book,” featuring glass fins that appear as book pages. These “pages” create a semi-transparent façade that warmly welcome patrons into its evening glow and offers diffused, natural light during the day. Long rows of D4 | accolade4 are bottom-mounted, placed on the interior I-Beams to provide indirect, non-glare illumination for reading.
